Hot foiling

I really wanted to play along at CAS Mix Up this month, if only because I wanted to break in my early birthday present: a Gemini Junior and Gemini Foilpress. Yay! My husband told me to order it for my birthday after I saw an offer a while back that was too good to pass up on.

Being caught up in work and life and creating pink Christmas cards, I did not think it was going to happen, but then tonight I decided I could at least give it a try, using the supplies I had already out.

So I used the snow globe scene die (that I used for my pink snow globe card) and the gold foil that came with my machine to impress and foil the scene onto watercolour cardstock (Crafter's Companion) and I was thrilled to get it right on my first try. I used the accompanying stamp set and Tombow markers to stamp the (solid) tree and the outlines of the house, such as the windows and roof details, and then used more Tombow markers and a water brush to add colour to the house itself and to the background. For my sentiment I used an older stamp set and die by SSS. I stamped the sentiment in Black Jack (CP) ink instead of black for a softer look.

I'm playing at:

CAS Mix Up - Stamping, foiling +
watercolouring and die cutting

Watercooler Wednesday - WWC244 All about occasions

ATSM - #364 CAS
