Silent night, holy night

Here's the companion card to the one I created earlier this month, but this one took a little longer to finish.

For this one, I changed the orientation of the stamp for a cleaner look. I also used only a simple wash of blues. For the sentiment, I combined two sentiments on my die cut circle and then mounted it to my panel with a larger vellum mat and a thread nest.

I'm just in time to link up my
card for this month's Rudolph Days Challenge

Sending Warm Mugs ...

I actually thought about altering the sentiment for this card, since the 'M' was in the sentiment as well, but I did not have the time or patience to sit down and actually fiddle with masking and getting everything to line up perfectly.

I stamped the mug and sentiment (Merry Christmoose, MFT) with the help of my MISTI and then coloured in the image and grounded the image using coloured pencils. I die cut the panel using one of the MFT Stitched rectangle scalloped edge frames, thinking I would also be using the frame, but I changed my mind and simply popped up the inner panel using fun foam. To finish things off, I used a glue pen and ultra fine glitter to add some subtle and sparkly texture to the cream.

A beary merry Christmas

Hello crafty friends! I'm back with a second Christmas card.

For this card, I pulled out MFT's Bitty Bears set.

I started by creating a circle mask using the same die that I used for my frame, after which I pencilled in some lines onto the mask so that I could use those to stamp the present image all around before stamping my bears with the help of an acrylic block with grid lines.

I used Polychromos pencils (thanks, Ineke!) to do my colouring, and blended the background and the bears using odourless mineral spirits. I did not blend out the red and green elements, because I liked the texture. I trimmed down my panel and adhered it to my light grey card base (SSS). I stamped the sentiment using Black Jack ink (CP Designs). Before adhering my circle frame, I added a little glitter to various elements using a glue pen an ultra fine glitter.

I'm entering my card into the Coloring Virtuoso category

CAS Christmas

I have been playing in my craftroom this weekend, and here's the first card I have to share.

I started by partially die cutting the MFT Snowfall die, so that only the top part of my panel was die cut. Next, I created a mask by tearing a post-it note and blended some distress oxide inks for my winter sky. I also spritzed a little water and when my panel had dried, I stamped the tree (Friends in the Forest) in Peeled Paint DOI and the sentiment (Bitty Bears) in Faded Jeans DOI. I then adhered my panel flat onto my white card base. As a finishing touch, I used a white coloured pencil to add the tiniest bit of shading to the tree brnaches.

I'm entering my card into the Clean and Simple Genius category
of the MFT 2019 Card Design Superstar contest.

A partridge in a pear tree

Hello crafty friends! Judging from all the new Christmas stamps and Christmas cards that are popping up all over blogland, it's safe to say that it will be Christmas before you know it. So here I am with another Christmas card.

The lovely Jingle Belles are asking for a card to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. I didn't think I had an appropriate stamp in my collection, but then I found this Partridge in a Pear Tree freebie from Beccy's Place in the digital files section on my computer ... as well as more 12 Days of Christmas freebies on Beccy's blog. Just sayin'...

I printed the images onto some Neenah cardstock and then decided on a whim to break in my new Spectrum Noir ColourTint pencils. They were on offer a while back and I was attracted to the muted colours.

While I was looking for a die to die cut my panel, I found a few previously die cut skinny frames in the package of my SSS Frames dies. I decided to use one of the white frames and used a Copic to make the frame match the colours of my image. To finish off, I stamped a sentiment from an older set by The Cat's Pajamas (after snipping off the 'to be' part) and adhered a few gold sequins.

All is calm, all is bright

Hello and welcome. I'm back with a Christmas card for a couple of challenges.

I pulled out an older wood-mounted background stamp by Hero Arts and stamped and white heat-embossed it onto a panel of watercolour card. I then used my Winsor & Newton paints to create a galaxy sky, drying in between layers. After die cutting the panel using a stitched rectangle die (SSS), I foam-mounted my panel onto my white card base. My sentiment (Catherine Pooler's Winterhaven Collection) was heat embossed in liquid platinum and then die cut using a stitched circle die (SSS) and a stitched rectangle die (SSS) and then layered onto a larger circle from vellum.
