When I was doing my smooshing for my previous card, I also did some smooshing onto a panel of Strathmore watercolour card. The result was not pretty, but I managed to salvage a nice part for this CAS card. I used snippets of blue Core'dinations card to die cut some waves using a SSS die and to create a mat and then layered everything onto my Soft stone (PTI) card base using thin foam tape behind the waves and the whale's tale, which was die cut from the same Centura pearl card as the dolphin on my previous card. The sentiment (HA) was stamped using Navy ink (HA).
I'm playing at:
CAS Mix Up - Ombre, stamping +
ink smooshing, die cutting
(Entry #3)
CAS Watercolour - Something blue (entry #2)
Watercooler Wednesday - WWC226 Masculine AG
AAA Birthday - #2 Use watercolours
Time Out - #138 Funny
I was so happy to have used some snippets, and then almost forgot
to go and have a well-deserved play at the Pixie's snippets Playground #355
Your ombre waves are cool and crisp and perfect for that whale, Marianne! Your splashed background is perfect! A good save! Thanks for sharing yet again at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at CAS Watercolour too!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! Love your aquatic card. Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteSometimes those offcuts and more useful than they initially look Marianne, this piece works perfectly to give the impression of the sea splashing up as the Whale flips his tail.

I can feel the splashes from here, Marianne! What a fabulous background for your whale ... and foreground with those ombré blue waves ... the sentiment is so fun and perfect with the scene! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Time Out! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteGreat save, fun smooshing and what a fabulous card. The ombre effect is unique and wonderful and so is your card. Thank you for your continued support this month at The CAS Mix Up challenge x.
ReplyDeleteVery creative and fun Marianne! Love those ombre waves and the watercoloured splash is just perfect! Always great when you can use a portion of a panel that is just perfect for your card! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up and CAS Watercolour! xx
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous use of a water coloured sea background. Love the addition of the die cut waves. Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you joining in with future challenges too.
ReplyDeleteAlways love it when you can salvage part of a disaster and this couldn't be more perfect for behind the whale tail. Love the different shades of blue for the waves and having the sea area just in that 'rectangle' is such a cool design. So very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card! Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Birthday Challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creative projects in the future galleries again.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Marianne - love how you created the sea and the splash is just such a perfect addition. It adds so much movement to the card! And so lovely to see in the the Snippets Playground again - hooray!
