Altenew Vintage Flowers

The current Masterclasses at StampNation have motivated me to get my gelatos out of hiding and give them a proper work-out.

After I had prepped my watercolour cardstock with gesso, I layered several colours of gelatos and worked them in using a moist finger and a paint brush until I had the look I was going for. I then took the middle layer of the largest flower (NBUS Vintage Flowers, Altenew) and stamped this repeatedly using white pigment ink. I also stamped layer 3 of one of the leaves stamp. Next, I stamped the 3rd layer of the flower using Grapevine ink (Altenew) and then used one of the small outlined flower images as a filler in a few spots. I adhered my panel to my white card base using liquid glue and foam-mounted my sentiment strip (Birthday messages, SSS, stamped in Grapevine ink). I did not set out to create a card with a vintage look and feel, but boy, do I love how this turned out.

I took my inspiration from the colour scheme and flower theme of the June inspiration photo at the Altenew blog.

I'm also linking up my card at:

  1. It sounds like a real fun inky creation Marianne and what a stunning result, it's just so beautifully feminine.
