Pastel Spring Flowers - 2 cards

Hello and welcom! I have managed to squeeze in some crafty time this week to create a bunch of Spring/Easter themed cards.

I started out by stamping several flowers and leaves from my NBUS stamp set (In Bloom: Julie's Roses, Winnie & Walter) in soft pink, yellow and grey Altenew inks. For the outlines I used a darker shade of each colour.

My first card was inspired by Shay's and Lydia's inspiration cards for the Rerun challenge at the Winnie & Walter blog, while the colours were inspired by Heather's colour challenge, also at the Winnie & Walter blog. As far as I know, the roses in my stamp set are the same roses as those in this month's Rerun set (The Big, the Bold and Extras), but in a larger size.

I fussy cut all of my images and clustered them on my card base, on which I had stamped my NBUS background stamp (Mini Scenery: Marbleize, Winnie & Walter) in the same light grey ink that I had used for the leaves. I stamped my sentiment (NBUS - True, Winnie & Walter) in the darker grey ink. To finish off, I added a few yellow sequins by Studio Calico, and went over the hearts of the flowers with my SN glitter brush.

Since I had already stamped and cut out my roses, I used one of the yellow roses to create a second card, using a cardstock panel that I had used to mop up some of the distress oxide ink that was left on my craft mat after playing with them. I didn't think much of my wet panel at the time, but once it dried, it turned out so soft and pretty. I used a stitched rectangle die (SSS) to cut my panel to size and then used it again to cut out a smaller strip from this panel and add the stitched detail. I stamped my sentiment (Wplus 9) onto the strip and adhered it flat to my card base. I used foam tape to pop up the rest of my panel and to support my rose. As before, I used a few sequins from my stash to finish the design. I also added a little shimmer to the rose using a SN glitter brush.
