Card Chain Challenge - July reveal

Hello everyone. I was supposed to have posted my card for last month's Card Chain Challenge yesterday, but better late than never...

I used this beautiful NBUS butterfly die that came with an issue of Die-cutting essentials. I tend to buy back issues of UK crafting magazines when they are on offer and select them for the free stamps or dies. And this die was too good to miss, don't you agree?

After die-cutting my panel, I masked off a rectangle on  my card base so that I could do some rainbow ink blending using my Catherine Pooler inks. I also die cut one of the separate butterflies and blended two shades of ink to match my background. I also used the dark purple ink to stamp my sentiment (Concord & 9th) onto a scrap of cardstock. I embellished the panel with a few of the left over small butterflies.

My card was inspired by the card sketch and the friendship theme.

There's still a few days left to sign up for this month's card exchange. You can sign up for individual months, so you can join in when you have time and skip one or more months if you cannot or don't want to play.

While I had the die and inks out, I decided to make a second card for my sister's birthday. I kept it very simple, with a black heat-embossed sentiment strip and some sequins in matching colours.

I'm linking up this card at:

  6. Lovely cards! Remind me of my summer lilac that in its third year is finally starting to bloom and will hopefully host many butterflies soon!

Zuslief zal er absoluut blij mee zijn. Net die paar sequins maakt het tot een stralende kaart. Liefs, Ineke☀️
