Hello everyone. Hope you are all staying safe and well!

For this card, I finally used a rectangle snippet of patterned paper that I saved when making this card last year.

I'm so glad I did LOL, since it was the perfect accompaniment for my background. I embossed a panel of watercolour card using my NBUS 3D Cable Knit embossing folder (Gemini), then did some ink blending. I did not like the beige/brown colour that I had originally selected so I decided to add some Hero Arts ink in Wet cement on top. I think that this created the effect of a well loved woolen sweater. I die cut my panel using a wonky stitching rectangle die by CUTplorations and then adhered my PP panel on top, after backing it with 2 additional layers of kraft cardstock.

I'm playing at:

Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards
that Beccy is hosting for the 8th time this year.
For my first card, I went with A for Antlers

NBUS #20 - Anything goes with NBUS

Jingle Belles - Holiday creature feature

CHNC - #514 Anything Christmas goes

SSS Wednesday - Anything goes

STAMPlorations - Never-ending AG with STAMPlorations

  1. Love the cable knit embossing folder. It looks so warm and cozy. Great card!

  2. This is cool Marianne. It looks like an worn-in sweater with a label attached. So different for a christmas card. Antlers are a good choice for the Letter A - I look forward to seeing what you come up with for other letters of the alphabet.

  3. The embossing folder you used is AWESOME Marianne, what a fabulous effect! I completely agree about it looking like a much loved knitted jumper. And the piece of red paper looks like a label. Fantastic!

  4. oh what a pretty card! i love the way you've combined the knitted background with the fun embroidered image, so clever! thanks for joining our Creature Feature at Jingle Belles!

  5. This is lovely - the red and gold look amazing! Jo x

  6. This is a great card Marianne, when I first looked at it I actually thought it was material and your stitched die is so cool too. Michelle

  7. I love how you created the look of a well-loved sweater, Marianne! You made it look totally realistic and I love it with the Nordic look of the sediment label! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell

  8. What a wonderful background panel, it looks so real! Hence, the card is a winner :-)
