Anyway, we thought it would be fun to participate in some challenges together, which is why we decided to create some cards using the butterfly stamps from the Beautiful Day stamp set that came in the SSS card kit that I purchased last month.
First up, I have the cards that my sister created.
She stamped the butterflies and coloured them in using Prismacolors.
For my A2 card, I stamped the leaf images and coloured them in using Prismacolors and then added the sentiment and butterfly. I matted my panel using one of the pretty Lawn Fawn papers from the kit.
For my second card, I wanted to show that a small stamp like this butterfly can be used in many ways. I used a pencil to lightly draw in some grid lines onto my square panel, and then used an acrylic grid block to do my rainbow stamping using Catherine Pooler inks (Sauna, Lemon ice, Grass skirt, All that jazz, Juniper mist). The sentiment is from Everyday Sayings by Hero Arts set and was stamped in Versafine black and clear heat embossed. I die cut my panel using a stitched square die by SSS and foam mounted it to my square 4½" card base.
We are both linking up our cards at:
Twofer card challenge - #5 Butterflies
Great cards - especially the second one - Impeccable stamping! You created an intriguing pattern here!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to spend time crafting with your sister!! Once in a blue moon, my sister and I do the same thing...only in a much colder climate, lol! You both made such sweet cards, and I love all the colors you've (both) used. Great butterfly stamps, and I do love those branches, too. Thank you so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
ReplyDeleteAmazing what you did with this little butterfly !! I especially love the second one !

How fabulous, Marianne and Ineke ... a twofer from both of you! Looks as though you had fun creating these bright and vibrant pretties ... the jewel colours are fabulous ... and the pattern created with that single butterfly is brilliant ... so precise! Thanks so much to the two of you for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anita: this looks like you were having a lot of fun! Both sets are gorgeous, love the happy colors.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Barbara
I wish you could see my huge smile, Marianne! I'm so darn tickled that both you and Ineke posted your fabulous Twofer cards in the challenge! Thank you so much! You both truly rocked the rules with your very sweet and very clean and simple cards! Even if you withheld chocklit and wodka from me, I could not pick a favorite from the four of your stunning cards, although your grid of pretty butterflies was a genius idea, Marianne! Truly, I love the colors and layout and borders of each beautiful design! Now I hope you are both smiling as broadly as I am! Continue having a blast together! It's the best!! Hugs, Darnell
