Going green

I have been playing in my craftroom this weekend and decided to have some fun using some stencils that I had not used before, and to combine a few fun challenges.

I started by selecting a corner of the Modern Triangles stencil by Neat & Tangled and taping it down onto my cardstock and craft mat using blue painter's tape. I selected a few Prismacolors in three shades of green to selectively colour in the open areas. I first did a light round where the up and down pencil strokes were clearly visible, but then decided to go over everything a second time to add more colour and to lightly smooth out the colouring. Green is not my go to colour (I gravitate more towards the teals and blues), but I love how this turned out. Colouring this way was great fun too, so I may create a few more in different colours soon.

I'm linking up my card at:

The Card Concept - #88 Monochromatic green
(I created a clean and graphic card)

(no toppings for me)

  1. Love this angled shape for your one third element, so very different! Thanks so much for linking up at AAA Cards.

  2. I love that you used pencils on a stencil, I tried that, didn't comeout as neat as yours. Thank you for playing at AAA cards

  3. Love the effect you got with your pencils, Marianne. Crisp and clean! Thanks for playing along at the Card Concept!

  4. Can't go wrong with favorite color. Thanks for sharing at Less is More!

  5. Love your card Marianne, I have never thought to use pencils with a stencil! Thanks for joining us at CAS-ual Fridays for our going green challenge.

  6. This looks amazing! I love the modern feel and what a cool idea to stamp the sentiment twice. Thanks for joining us at Less is More!

  7. I absolutely love how this turned out too - I've done some pencil colouring with a stencil before and it gives such a beautiful earthy look with the pencil strokes and ordered because it's a stencil. Just love it's simplicity and I love the green. xx

  8. Oooh, I spy a winner here, Marianne! This is a stunning design!! I hope all is still going well! Hugs, Darnell

  9. Love this card! Great interpretation of the challenge theme and Fabulous colour combo! Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards!

😘 Ineke

  11. This card - in addition to being wonderful! - practically screams SUMMER at me! It says lemon and lime and if it weren't for the sub-zero temperatures here, I'd be ready for a mojito :-)
    Cheers, Barbara

  12. Hi, love how you have used the 1/3rd space at an angle for an amazing CAS design and the results with the stencil. Thank you for playing along with us at AAA Cards Challenge. - Hugs Bharati
