Anyway, I started by running a panel of white Neenah cardstock through my Cuttlebug 6 times, using three sizes of circles.
For my Christmas card, I used a mini blending tool and Iced Spruce DI to add a little shading to the edges of my circles. I stamped the snowman's faces using a small stamp set from a Hunkydory kit that I bought during a sale. Not my usual thing, but I was thinking I could use it to make a batch of cards to donate/sell at the animal wellfare sales that are being organised during the winter season. And I have to say, the stamp set is totally cute, containing loads of stamps to build your own snow people in varying sizes and with varying accessories. After adding some colour to the noses, I assembled my snow people using thin foam tape.
For the background, I masked off the sky area and blended Broken China DOI ink using one of my Clarity brushes. To finish off, I white heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set and added two scarves using a piece of hemp twine I found lying on my craft table.
For my monster card, I used my NBUS Monster Mash set by Lawn Fawn and was thrilled to discover that I could use all of the images (except the tiny solid heart) on my 2x3 circles, the same number I had used on my Christmas card. I stamped the images using black ink and coloured them in using several of the 10 Tombow markers that I bought in Athens yesterday. I heat embossed my sentiment in white onto a panel of black cardstock, before adhering this panel to my white card base and adhering my circles.

I'm delighted that you took today to play and can work tomorrow, Marianne! Your twofer cards are both adorable! Those cute snowmen have me grinning from ear-to-ear! It looks really simple, but following your explanation, there were a lot of steps involved and each step was done precisely and perfectly! The same goes for your monster mash! Lots of stamping, coloring, embossing, and thinking to create this fun design! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #8! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI agree with Darnell: so good you got to play! Love both cards but these snowmen are just a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! I may have to copy that idea at some point.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Barbara
