Christmas snippets card

Hello everyone. Today, I have not one but two Christmas cards that I created using scraps of PP and cardstock. These strips of patterned paper (Marianne Design) have been in my UFO box for ages, so it was high time to finally use them on a card. The sentiment strips were also in my UFO box, while the poinsettias were die cut from a snippet of red cardstock using a NBUS die set by Nellie Snellen that I bought during my family trip to the Netherlands back in October.

Celebrate in style

Hello everyone. Thanks for stopping by. Today, I have a birthday card to share.
I created the smooshed background by picking up some sprayed inks using a piece of acetate and spreading it onto a panel of watercolour card.

I used a previously stamped and coloured butterfly (English Country Garden, Uniko) from my UFO box. If I remember correctly, I started with a smooshed panel to stamp the butterfly and then added detail using coloured pencils. Although I have the coordinating die, I decided to fussy cut the image because I did not want the white border to show on this card. To add more interest, I decided to go over the bottom part with a black marker and then embossed the entire butterfly using clear embossing powder. Below is a close-up, giving a better idea of the glossy finish. I stamped the sentiment (Sentiments Outlined, Uniko) and the antennae of the butterfly onto my panel before popping up the butterfly.

Christmas leftovers and UFOs

Hello everyone. I (finally) started on this year's Christmas cards. The current challenge at Jingle Belles was a good incentive to take a look at my stash of paper scraps and unfinished or abandoned elements.

I had a few squares of leftover patterned paper, so I decided to create some square cards for a change. I also happen to have a stack of pre-cut and pre-scored square cream-coloured cards with matching envelopes. All the more reason to finally use them.

I simply adhered the squares/strip of patterned paper onto my card base and added elements from my UFO box, including the sentiment strips, and popping up some of the elements.

Below are pictures of the individual cards.

Spring card for Card Chain Challenge reveal

Hello everyone. It's the 2nd of the month and that means it's time to reveal all of the cards that were exchanged during the April Card Chain Challenge.

My card went to Linda in Minnesota. At the end of March I received a box of crafty goodies from Alex Syberia after winning the full February release. Whoot! I was inspired to use the beautiful Spring Garden stamp with coordinating stencils and dies to create my card, using the Spring and friendship theme options.

For my background, I did some soft ink blending using the Floral Lattice stencil from the AS February release. I finished the card off with one of the many beautiful sentiment from the stamp set and cut it out using the coordinating die.
