W&W Rerun No 20

I managed to squeeze in a little crafty time today to create a card for this month's Rerun challenge at the Winnie & Walter blog. I do not own the stamp set that was being revisited this month. Instead, I used the supplied I did have to CASE Heather's card.

I created my stripes by masking off strips and blending distress inks. After die cutting my panel using the largest die of the Essentials: Noelle Cutaways set (Winnie & Walter) I stamped the sentiment from The Big, the Bold, Friends (Winnie & Walter) with the help of my MISTI and then added a few stars from the Comfort + Joy set (Winnie & Walter) and kissing the stamp with the large, textured start stamp from the same set before stamping onto my panel. After adhering my panel to a red card base (SSS), I added some multi-coloured stickles to the centres of the stars, but decided I did not like it. So I scraped of most, spreading out just a tiny amount over the entire stars for some added sparkle. Sadly, this does not show in the picture.

From our home to yours

Hello there! I managed to squeeze in a bit of crafty time just now to create a card for this month's challenge at Muse: ChristmasVisions. It's been a while since I've been able to play along, but I really wanted to join after seeing the inspiration card by Chriss Blagrave. I figured I might be able to make the deadline if I stuck to a one-layer card and used my new Catherine Pooler inks (It's a boy, It's a girl, Mint to be and Melon ice) to do my stamping. So here goes:

I used a previously die cut circle (SSS stitched circles) for a visual indication for my stamping and afterwards decided it would be perfect for stamping my sentiment. All stamps are from the Cozy Christmas set (Essentials by Ellen).

Below is the card created by Chriss. As you can see I kept the layout and colours pretty similar, but created a square card.

That's another Christmas card to add to my stack. Yay!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop 2

Hello there! I'm back with another card for the current Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I stamped the coffee cup (Coffee Break, Whimsy Stamps) onto my Neena Solar white card base and then stamped the middle part again onto a scrap of MFT patterned paper and then stamped my sentiment (Literary caffeine-ations, Becca Cruger/STAMPlorations) onto that before fussy cutting. I stamped the circle stains (also from Coffee Break) in several colours of my new Catherine Pooler inks, masking off the coffee cup with a scrap of paper where necessary. I coloured the coffee cup using coloured pencils (Spectrum Noir) and then adhered my centre piece using foam squares. I added two strips of patterned paper (MFT) and a few sequins to finish off.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and PTI

I created two cards this weekend using a panel that I had created last month using distress oxide inks.

The first card I made is for the 2017 Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop:

I created the background using the same distress oxide inks (stamps by Whimsy Stamps, Coffee Break). I mounted my background panel onto dark kraft cardstock and popped up my sentiment panel using foam dots. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine sepia and heat embossed using clear embossing powder.

My second card is for last week's Make it Monday at the Papertrey Ink blog.

The butterfly stamp and coordinating die are by PTI (Butterfly hope) and the sentiment is by Hero Arts (Everyday Sayings). I adhered everything to a cardbase of hammered cardstock (Crafter's Companion), which I cut to 4 by 5 inches.

MFT Camp Create - Glitter

For my last card (well, actually this was the first card I created), I CASEd the card that Stephanie had created to inspire us for day 5, Glitter. I even channeled my inner Stephanie and added stickles to my sequins lol.

MFT Camp Create - Slider & dry embossing

I really love how this Christmas card turned out. Isn't that deer the cutest ever? He's jumping for joy!
I did not really want the slider channel to show, so I created a very short channel by die cutting 2 small circles and using a pair of sharp scissors to cut the channel.

The Ho Ho Ho sentiment was dry embossed using an MFT die, but the cardstock would not stay flat and crisp, so I layered it behind my front panel.

This card fits the theme for day 4 of MFT Camp Create, which is sliders, as well as the theme for bonfire night, which is dry embossing.

MFT Camp Create - Shaker

Day 3 of MFT Camp Create was dedicated to shaker cards. The stamps and paper pad are by MFT, the stitched dies are by SSS and the sequins came as a complimentary gift with an order from Winnie & Walter. I stamped the image and sentiment with my new Catherine Pooler inks (Mint to be and All that jazz).

MFT Camp Create - Watercolour resist

My second card for the MFT Camp Create challenge combines resist (Day 2) with watercolour (Day 1). I heat embossed the MFT background stamp in white embossing powder and then added colour using Gelatos.  I added the MFT smile die cut, a stamped sentiment by Concord &9th and a few sequins.

MFT Camp Create - Watercolour & Glitter

Hi there. This is the first of several posts for the MFT Camp Create challenges, featuring several birthday/encouragement card and another Christmas card. Woot!

Day 1 was all about watercolouring. I watercoloured through an MFT stencil using metallic gelatos (I've had my gelatos for quite some time now, and hadn't used them much, and I definitely had not used them to watercolour through a stencil!) and added a die cut and glittered butterfly that was left over after creating my card for the glitter challenge (Day 5).

Layered Christmas card

Hello there! Today I'm back with a fairly quick and layered Christmas card without any stamping. Shocking, I know! I don't do layers as often as I did in the past, but I wanted to make an exception for a farewell card for the Mojo Monday challenge that is closing down. I haven't been able to play along as often as I would have liked, but heck, that's life. I also wanted to play along with the lovely Jingle Belles. It's been ages since I played along, and I need to get on with my Christmas cards.

Anyhow, here's my card, using papers from an old DCWV pack and a few garland die cuts (Reverse Confetti):

And here's the sketch I used:

CAS Mix Up June reminder

I'm back today with my second installment as a guest designer for this month's CAS Mix Up challenge.

There is still time to play along with the theme for this month's challenge, which is:

This time, I decided to create a Christmas card, since I am way behind on my goal to have all of my Christmas cards ready by the end of October. Besides, I wanted to have a play with this gorgeous stencil paste that I recently picked up at a shop in Heraklion. Here's what I came up with:

I applied stencil paste (Vanilla, Pentart) through a stencil (Frozen forest, StudioLight) onto a scrap of dark kraft cardstock and fussy cut my pinecones once the paste was dry. I stamped the text fragment and sentiment (Pinecones, CAS-ual Fridays, retiring) in distress oxide ink (vintage photo) onto a die cut panel of Neenah desert storm cs and then restamped the sentiment in fired brick. I diluted a little fired brick ink to create some splatters. Before I mounted everything to my card, I went around the edges of my pinecones and panel with a blending tool and vintage photo ink. I added a double bow from some red ribbon I found in my recycle box.

I do hope you will pop over to the CAS Mix Up blog for more inspiration and to play along.

CAS Mix Up June

I'm thrilled to be making a guest appearance at the CAS Mix Up challenge this month after having been selected as the top pick for the April challenge with this card. For the month of June, we have the following fun challenge for you:

And here is my card:

I started by die cutting my panel with the journaling card die (Concentric Circles Dies, Neat & Tangled) and repeatedly stamping the Script stamp (Kaiserkraft) in archival ink, before applying texture paste (Ranger) through a flower stencil that came as a free gift with a UK crafting magazine. While the texture paste was still wet, I sprinkled fine glitter (local bargain store) on top. I adhered my panel and the sentiment strip with foam tape for some added dimension.

I hope my card is inspiring you to play along. Please visit the CAS Mix Up blog for all the details, plus more inspiration and a few links to some technique videos.
