Gilding flakes and a new stencil

I recently bought this beautiful Funky Fossils stencil and I thought it was just perfect for some gilding flakes shimmer. I applied Pentart metal leaf glue through the stencil and added Pentart gilding flakes once the glue became transparent.

The sentiment element was from a recent Love from Lizi kit. All I had to do was add some liquid glue to the foam dot at the back and mount my card panel to a card base in a matching colour (SSS).

Wanna share my umbrella?

Hello crafty friends. I hope your are all still keeping safe and healthy. We are very fortunate to be living on an island with only 15 cases across the island and only one active case on the other side. What's more, I can continue working from home as always.

I have hardly seen my craftroom these past few weeks, preferring to be out in the sun when we had some during the weekends, but I finally managed to create/finish a few cards today.

This month's Twofer Card Challenge was calling for cards featuring rain and/or an umbrella and I just happened to have ordered a copy of the Papercraft Essentials magazine earlier this month, featuring a fabulous April showers-inspired stamp and die set from Clearly Besotted.

For my first card, I used one of the solid stamps to create a border around my card panel using Melon ice CP ink, and rotating the stamp 180 degrees to stamp again using Bellini CP ink. The sentiment is from an older stamp set by Concord and 9th. The black frame was drawn by hand, using a ruler and a Micron pen.

For my second card, I did some ink smooshing using the same colours of ink, and then stamped and die cut 3 umbrellas. The sentiment is from a free downloadable PDF that is available in Catherine Pooler's shop. I printed the page at 50%, fussy cut one of the sentiments and popped it up using foam tape, along with the 3 umbrellas.

Simple plaid

Hello crafty friends. I hope you are all keeping safe and healthy. I managed to spend an hour or so in my craftroom tonight to create a Christmas card. It feels a little strange to be creating Christmas cards right now, but on the other hand it seems to be a sign of hope, hope that the current crisis will pass and that things may be back to some kind of normalcy by the end of the year. And of course, I needed to play at this month's Rudolph Days.

Anyway, I picked a plaid stencil (Joanna Sheet) from my NBUS pile and did some simple ink blending using CP ink (Peppermint scrub) and a TE blending brush, rotating and shifting the stencil halfway for a bit of variation. I finished off my card with a pre-stamped and die-cut sentiment (SSS Christmas word mix) and black baker's twine.
