Twofer fruits

The current Twofer challenge was a great incentive to use my NBUS Layered Citrus stamp set from STAMPlorations/The Bee's Knees.

The design of my first card (on the left) was inspired by a tv commercial that I saw last week. I started with some ink blending on a few small panels of Bristol Smooth lettering cardstock (Tombow) using Catherine Pooler inks (Limoncello, Lime Rickey, Tiki Torch) and my Taylored Expressions blender brushes. Next, I double stamped the solid images using the same ink colours. After trimming my panels down, I decided I did want to add a hint of the outline image, so I stamped it in a light grey ink Altenew. After several mishaps, I ended up with my trio being adhered to two layers of cardstock (black and white) and trimmed back to the original tri-panel. Since I still wanted a black border but no more layering, I simply went around the panel using a Memento black marker before adhering it to a new card base with the right side up. The sentiment is from an old Clearly Besotted sentiment set.

For my second card, I created some sunflowers using the one solid stamp, using the rock and roll technique to create the darker edges. The die is from an older Essentials by Ellen die set, while the stamped sentiment is from a Winnie and Walter set. The sequins are by Studio Calico.

  1. Your get well soon card is perfect with all that fresh citrus. The sunshine card has lovely depth due to your rock n roll technique. Thank you for playing along at Twofer Card Challenge #24.

  2. These are fresh and delightful, Marianne! I'm sorry your get well card had a few mishaps, but we would never know looking at it! It's a terrific tri-colored tri-fruity design and everyone knows that citrus is good for any number of ills! And, oh my goodness, who wouldn't love to receive a sunny sunflower card like your second design?! It makes me happy all over and it will make someone's day!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #24! Hugs, Darnell

  3. Two terrific cards Marianne! Your get well soon card is sure to cheer someone up with all that bright and sunshine-y color on the slices, and your sunflower card will bring a smile to someone's face too! Two unique and different them both! Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge! :0)

  4. Your citrus twofer is amazing. I'm glad you have finished the get well card despite of all problems making it. Sunshine card is amazing in orange. :-)
    Hugs, Sonja

  5. How fabulously bright and cheerful! Love the sunshine card in particular. It's a great way to use the lemons differently xx

  6. Exquisite cards! I love the Sending you Sunshine one - I would have needed that (to send to someone) a couple of weeks ago. But now I will just remember the idea and make one myself... as soon as I get out of Christmas card mode :-) What do you mean, you need to get going on yours?! It's only February and you made so many last year!

  7. Love the zingy colours. They are so fresh looking. Thanks for joining us at The Alphabet Challenge. Love Dawn x

  8. Mooi kaarten, frisse en juist ook warme kleuren, Marianne.
    Liefs, Ineke☀️
