Using up scraps

After I had created loads of panels using my temporatry handmade turnabout, I intended to make the most of my 5.5x5.5in square panels. In addition to the squares I created for my quartet of cards in this post, I also die cut some rectangular panels that I still have to turn into regular US A2-sized cards, but that also left me with some perfectly sized long rectangular strips that I used for some very CAS cards. And I do love how these turned out.

All I had to do was mat them onto (more scraps) of black cardstock before adhering them to my card and foam mount the white heat embossed sentiment strips (MFT).

I used the ink that was left over on my stencil after blending a background to create a monoprint.

I die cut a smaller panel and matted it onto black before foam mounting it to my card. The candy canes and sentiment are from an older Stamp of Approval set.

In the forest twofer

I'm so happy that I managed to create some cards this weekend in spite of the cold I caught.

This month's Twofer Card Challenge is all about Holiday Greenery, and for this month, both cards may be Christmas/Holiday related. I had my Uniko stencil (In the forest) already out, so I decided to use it for my twofer.

For my first card, I applied some new glitter pastes in soft green and gold through my stencil onto a panel of watercolour card. I used this week's MFT sketch for my layout, die cutting cirles (SSS stitched circles) and adhering them to a panel of fog cardstock (SSS) that I has stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp. The steniment is from the Bitty Bears set by MFT. I adhered my sentiment strip to a strip of Centura metallic card and added a thin strip of the same above and below my panel.

For my second card I created a watercolour background using CP inks in various greens, placed the stencil on top and let the paint dry. This did not have the effect I had been aiming for so I placed the stencil back and selectively applied heavy body paste through the stencil.

I foam mounted the die cut panel onto a fog card base and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and adhered my sentiment strip with more foam tape.

Home-made turnabout - hats, mittens and scarves

I've been having some fun creating my own (temporary) turnabout with the help of my MISTI and the MISTI grid paper. Since I needed to place all of my separate stamps onto the lid, I decided to create several square panels in various colour combinations before removing the stamps again. Here's the first few cards that I created, but there will be more...

I used Catherine Pooler inks for all of my stamping, except for the following card, for which I used the warm grey ink cubes by Altenew. 

The sentiments are from the Snow Globe Sentiments by MFT. I had heat embossed several of the sentiments earlier and had already cut them into strips. Just perfect for creating multiple cards.

Love from Lizi Nov - card 2

I'm back with another card from the Love from Lizi November card kit.

I used one of the pretty papers from the card kit for my background as well as some snippets that were left over from another card and heat embossed one of the sentiment stamps using Rose gold ep (SSS) onto a tag that was die cut with a die from a die set by Lil' Inker. To finish off, I added a few die cut stars from my stash (SSS) and added a little shimmer to them using a Spectrum Noir glitter brush.

Love from Lizi Nov card kit

When I saw the super September monthly card kit from Love from Lizi, I decided to take the plunge and take out a subscription. I did create a few cards with that first kit but never got around to posting them. Since the November kit is Christmas themed, I decided to try and create at least 10 cards with the kit. Today I'm posting the first one. The kit did prove to be a bit of a challenge, since the stamp set that was included, was a sentiment set. But I was determined to use as many of the supplies from the kit as I could.

For this card, I used the embossing folder (using the debossed print for a more subtle background), one of the two (pop-out) decoupage sheets and a sentiment from the sentiment pop-out sheet that was included. I did skip one of the layers of the wreath and added a little extra shimmer to the top part of the wing and the beak, as well as glossy accents to the berries.

Warm winter wishes

I have one more coffee-themed card to share. After stamping, copic colouring and fussy cutting my images (Coffee Collection kit, Create a Smile), I paired them with a previously die cut panel (from an older SOA collection) and layered everything onto my white card base. The sentiment is by Winnie and Walter.

To finish off, I added a little shimmer to the whipped cream, the heart and the berries on my patterned paper and added a layer of glossy accents onto the heart and the berries.

Merriest wishes

I created another card using the same mug die that I used for my previous card. Since I had already coloured it (using Copics) and used a few items from my UFO box (the watercoloured background and the stamped and die cut candy cane (Candy cane lane, Catherine Pooler)), this card came together fairly quickly.

The sentiment is from Snow Globe Sentiments, a small but versatile set by MFT and the snowflake die is by CAS-ual Fridays (Funky Flakes, which was part of a Stamp of Approval collection). To finish up, I added some Nuvo crystal drops

Hi there! I managed to create another card tonight for a couple of challenges out in blogland.

I pulled out the CAS-ual Fridays die that I purchased a while ago after winning a gift voucher to the CAS-ual Fridays store and decided to colour it in using my Copics for a bit of blending practice.
Next, I stamped the reindeer and snowflake from my NBUS stamp set by Simply Made Crafts/Helen Griffin (Traditional Christmas). To add more interest to my card base while at the same time keeping my card CAS, I used my score board to score a few lines and then swiped some warm grey ink cubes (Altenew) across to give the impression of a wood panel. To tie in the brown-grey colour of the wood panel, I used some brown baker's twine to add a bow to my cup, before popping up my cup using foam tape. I used my corner chomper to round the bottom corners of my card.

Twinkling H20 on black cardstock

After seeing Kristina Werner's video for day 3 of the 2019 Holiday card series, I decided to get out the few Twinkling H20's that I own, as well as my set of Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paints to do some watercolouring onto black cardstock. There also happens to be a holiday moodboard challenge going on at StampNation, and one of the images featured a black/chalkboard background, which was another great incentive.

I stamped the bird and sprig from my PinkFresh Studio stamp set (that came with a copy of the Creative Stamping magazine) in Antique linen distress oxide ink and let it dry before colouring it in.

To finish off, I heat embossed the sentiment in silver and adhered my trimmed down panel to my white card base. Since the black eye of the bird had been lost in the process, I used black enamel accents to put it back in.

Hello there! I'm popping in with a quick and CAS card for a couple of challenges. After stamping my image and sentiment in black, I did some quick and simple colouring using coloured pencils and then adhered my trimmed down panel to my A2 sized card.

Hello crafty friends. In some parts of the world, November has already started, so it's high time to get started on those Christmas cards, if you haven't done so already.

I still needed to create a card for the October Rudolph Days, so it had to be quick and easy. This card was inspired by one of the cards that Kristina Werner created for het 2019 Holiday card series. I loved the all-white card that she created using a 3D embossing folder. I don't have any of those (yet), so I simple used a 'normal' embossing folder (Sizzix). I heat embossed the sentiment (Right at Home)  using gold embossing powder (Papermania) and matted my panel onto some gold Centura Metallic cardstock (Crafter's Companion).

November 1st also marks the start of Beccy's annual Month of Holday Cards challenge. The prompt for day 1 is something starting with 'A', so I thought this (almost) all-white card fit the bill nicely.
