In the forest twofer

I'm so happy that I managed to create some cards this weekend in spite of the cold I caught.

This month's Twofer Card Challenge is all about Holiday Greenery, and for this month, both cards may be Christmas/Holiday related. I had my Uniko stencil (In the forest) already out, so I decided to use it for my twofer.

For my first card, I applied some new glitter pastes in soft green and gold through my stencil onto a panel of watercolour card. I used this week's MFT sketch for my layout, die cutting cirles (SSS stitched circles) and adhering them to a panel of fog cardstock (SSS) that I has stamped with a Hero Arts background stamp. The steniment is from the Bitty Bears set by MFT. I adhered my sentiment strip to a strip of Centura metallic card and added a thin strip of the same above and below my panel.

For my second card I created a watercolour background using CP inks in various greens, placed the stencil on top and let the paint dry. This did not have the effect I had been aiming for so I placed the stencil back and selectively applied heavy body paste through the stencil.

I foam mounted the die cut panel onto a fog card base and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and adhered my sentiment strip with more foam tape.

I'm playing at:

  4. First of all, I love the gray, Marianne! I never think to reach for it, but always love it when I see it. It looks great with your touches of gold, silver, green, and as a background of snowflakes! You made two terrific designs using your Christmas tree stencil as your greenery! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #22! Hugs, Darnell

  7. These are just wonderful, Marianne! Those glittery trees look amazing, and have just the right festive touch for the holiday season. Love that you've created your own patterned paper, too. Your second card was worth the second helping of effort. It turned out beautifully! Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Bev

  8. The stencil you used is fabulous Marianne, you got some great effects! I love the shiny, metallic look of the first card, those glitter pastes are fabulous. The second card you made is my favourite, I really like the watercolour background, and I think it was a great idea to add the heavy body paste. Beautiful!
    Cheers,

  12. Here I go on another round of catch-up! Lovely cards as always, I'm very much tempted to go out into the woods (again - as I actually did do that earlier today)... still hoping for snow to go with it!
