Sun Twofer

With summer still in full swing here in Crete, I had to create at least one beach card this summer.

For this one, I used my W&N watercolour paints to create my background and used old and NBUS stamp sets and the accompanying dies to create my sun (old Lawn Fawn set) and my umbrella and flamingo swimming band (new Crafter's Companion set). The sentiment is from an old SSS stamp set. I trimmed down my panel and mounted it to my card front.

As always, I was determined to play in this month's Twofer challenge, but I was running out of time fast. Therefore, I made a very quick and CAS second card, turning the sun stamp into artsy sunflowers. I stamped three sunflowers onto my kraft panel and did some very quick colouring using coloured pencils and odourless mineral spirits. I die cut my panel using a SSS stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a dark yellow card base. To create my sentiment strip, I grabbed a yellow Copic marker and a scrap of white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment (Concord & 9th).

So here is a picture of both my cards:

  16. Weird... I didn't feel I was missing out on anything (not traveling this year), but seeing that beach card makes me want to go. It's an adorable card. And the bronze feeling of your artsy sun flowers is really quite spectacular.
