A-coloring we go with Jingle Belles

Hello there! I'm thrilled to be making a guest appearance at the Jingle Belles blog this fortnight. Some time last year, when the lovely Jingle Belles were inviting us to come 'a-caroling' with them, I thought it might also be fun to go 'a-coloring' with the Jingle Belles. This idea resurfaced when I was thinking of my crafty goals for 2018. I intend to do more colouring this year, so I decided to send  Lauren and Stephanie an e-mail, and they loved my idea.

I started with this sweet image by Winnie and Walter (Sweet Holiday with Evelin T Designs) that I had originally watercoloured using Tombow markers. To cover up some spots where the colours had run into each other and to add additional shading and detail, I used coloured pencils. For my background, I first masked off an area of my card base and blended distress inks (antique linen, tumbled glass, shaded lilac) and then added some water splatters and snow (using a snow effect marker). For the snow on the ground, I spread out my snow marks using my bone folder (simply because it was lying next to me lol). The sentiment is from another set by Winnie and Walter (Season's Tweetings with Evelin T Designs).

My card shows that there are many ways to add colour to your card and I'm pretty sure that Lauren and Stephanie will give you even more ideas.
So how about it? Will you come a-coloring with us? Simply create a Christmas card that incorporates any type of colouring medium – markers, pencils, crayons, pastels, inks, watercolours – you name it, and link it up at the Jingle Belles blog.

And when you're done colouring, you could also link up your card at Kathy Racoosin's 30 day colouring challenge.

I'm also linking up my card at:
