Monochromoatic Winterhaven Poinsettia

Here's another card that was inspired by an old issue of Holiday Cards & More (Volume 7) by PaperCraft.

The inspiration piece had several layered snowflakes from pink polka dot paper in the middle, finished off with a button and twine. I went for a simplified version, using only one stamped and fussy-cut poinsettia ('Tis the season stamp set) from the latest SOA Winterhaven collection by Catherine Pooler Designs. Before stamping my poinsettia using CP ink in Rockin' Red, I blended some It's a girl ink onto my white cardstock to create a softer look. The sentiment is from a different stamp set (Here we come a-caroling) from the same SOA collection and stamped in Unicorn white pigment ink. The lines were added using a ruler and a white Pilot pen. I popped up my poinsettia using foam tape.

Muse 243

Here's a card I created for this week's Muse challenge, where Kim gave us an autumn-themed critter card. I don't normally 'do' autumn cards and don't celebrate Thanksgiving, so I went with another Christmas card.

I focused on Kim's autumn colours, polka dot background, dome shaped aperture (Pretty Pink Posh) and critters (MFT). I coloured my images using Promarkers and blended some Antique linen DI after masking off my images.

Snow tag

Here's another tag I created this week. It was heavily inspired by Tracey's tag for Day 15 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. I practically recreated Tracey's design using the supplies I had.

I'm linking up my tag at:

Christmas tags/cards

As promised, I'm back with some creations I created earlier.

First up, there's a tag that was inspired by the Gayatri Murali's tag on Day 1 of Tracey's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. I do enjoy creating gift tags, but since I don't really have a need for them, I usually end up turning them into cards. For this first one, I forgot to take a picture of the tag itself.

Jingle Belles - Baby, it's gold (or silver or copper) outside

For my second project, I actually remembered to photograph my tag before adhering it to my card.
My tag and subsequent card were inspired by the creations from the Crafty Christmas Collaboration between Tracey McNeely and Jessica Frost-Ballas back in June. The background of my tag was inspired by Jessica's tag, while the card layout was inspired by Tracey's card.

Fa La La

When I saw Ardyth's fun inspiration for this week's Muse challenge, I knew I wanted to play along. Indirectly, the card is also based on the inspiration photo of Inspired by All the Little Things.

I adapted the size and format of my panel and card to the size of my tree die. The size of my card is 4.25 x 4.25 inch.

Materials used:
Cardstock - Neenah solar white, Crafter's Companion matt black
Dies - SSS stitched square, MFT tree
Stamps - HA Magical background, Sentiment from a small Studio Calico set
Embossing powder - Ranger Liquid platinum, SSS white
Tools - Cuttlebug, double-sided tape, SSS foam tape

Challenges:

Jingle Belles - Giving (Holiday) Thanks
I have no real need for Holiday thank you cards
since we don't exchange gifts for Christmas,
but I do think these smaller sized cards would
be great for some clean and simple Thank you notes.

Gift of the season

Hi there! Did you miss me? Although I did create a few cards in the past few weeks, I simply did not have the time and energy to take pictures and post them on my blog. Hopefully, they will all make their way to the blog this week.

First up, there's this clean and simple card that I created this afternoon. Yesterday, I had been browsing an old PaperCrafts special issue (Holiday Cards & More volume 7) and was inspired by a card by Cristina Kowalczyk. I knew right away that I wanted to CASe her card using my NBUS gift die by Cutplorations/STAMPlorations.

I die cut the present from an experimental Brushos panel and die cut the bow from gold glitter card (Marianne Design). To add a little more definition to the gift box, I went around it with a Versamark marker and heat embossed in gold (Papermania). I used liquid glue to adhere the bow to the box, but added a foam dot below the ribbon ends. The sentiment is from the Small Folded Banners set (SSS) and was stamped in black (Altenew crisp ink). I popped up the box using foam tape (SSS).
