1 or rather 3 more Christmas cards

Hello there! I'm back with yet another post and 3 more cards. Here's the first of them:

The only challenge for this week's Share the Love challenges at Winnie & Walter featuring Essentials by Ellen that I had not participated in yet, was the moodboard challenge (see the graphic further down). I was looking for a way to incorporate the image at the bottom right, combining the Christmas tree stamp by W&W with the hydrangea stamps by Essentials by Ellen. I was thinking of using the cutting file that I have for the W&W stamp set using my Silhouette to cut a mask to stamp through, but my Silhouette is hiding in a box in a closet so I was looking for another way...

And then I saw the prompt for the new HLS July CAS challenge: Kissing, and I was thinking OF COURSE!

So, I lined up the tree stamp on the lid of my MISTI, placed the hydrangia images (the main stamp + 2 petal stamps) onto my Fiskars stamp press, inked it up in Versamark and stamped that onto the tree stamp on the lid before closing the lid and stamping the tree onto my panel of watercolour cardstock in the corner of my MISTI. After heat embossing in clear embossing powder (HA), I used my Zig markers to dab spots of colour onto my cleaned tree stamp (still positoned on the lid), spritzed with water and stamped this onto my heat embossed panel.

While my panel was drying, I heat embossed the W&W sentiment onto a strip of vellum using detail gold ep (Ranger). When all my panels (see below) were ready, I die cut them all using a SSS stitched reactangle die. I wrapped the vellum strip around my card, adhering it at the back and then mounted the panel onto my SSS card base using foam tape.

The other two cards were created in a similar way. For card number 2, I had stamped the hydrangea onto my tree stamp using white pigment ink. I decided to use bands of colour for this one, but because I had found the colours on my first card to be rather vibrant, I wanted a more softer look by using a second generation impression of my water colours. So I grabbed another, plain panel of water colour cardstock to stamp the first impression, which I used to create card number 3.

I'm glad I did, because the hydrangea pattern is really subtle and only visible when you tilt the panel in the light. Below is a picture that I created in my craftroom in the daylight. I feel I might have ruined it if I had been using stronger colours. I added a simple sentiment (Essentials by Ellen) in black and used a gel pen to add a little gold sparkle to the flower hearts.

And this brings us to card number 3. For this one, I decided a sparkly and festive gold glitter sentiment die cut (Essentials by Ellen) would be all the embellishing it needed.

  2. Very creative way to incorporate kissing along with a flower and a Christmas stamp. My head would be spinning trying to combine these things that don't seem to go together. But you have done it and it is AMAZING! LOVE the first card with your kissed and heat embossed images along with the rainbow colours. So unexpected for a Christmas card, but so beautiful and fun. All three cards are awesome! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
