Muse: ChristmasVisions 50

I could not resist playing along with this week's ChristmasVisions muse, Eliz Stewart, who gave us a glittery white and blue snowflake card to inspire us.

I used several elements from her card: the colours, glitter and snowflake theme, but instead of using inlaid die cuts and a small vellum circle, I used a full-sized vellum panel and a snowflake embossing folder. I had intended to use a blue inked panel behind my vellum, but I did not like the look of this, so I decided to mask off the sides of my vellym panel and swiped my new Blueprint sketch mini distress ink pad over the backside of my vellum panel, sprinkled iridescent sparkle embossing power (JudiKins) over it and heat embossed. I adhered my panel to my cardbase using double-sided tape and added a few rhinestones in the centre of the snowflakes. Wish you could see the sparkle in real life.

Here is the card by Eliz that inspired my card:

  3. Such a pretty card! I'm really surprised that is inked with Blueprint instead of an underlayment--love it, so vivid!

  6. This is quite beautiful, and has a real arty feel. I like the way you masked off the blue inky background. I now looks like a white frame around the inky loveliness!

Thanks for taking part in the June Rudolph Days Challenge.
