The colours are from this week's colour scheme and the brown & cream border was inspired by Kelly Marie's card, but I turned her Happy Birthday card with hot air balloons into a Christmas card with my new Hero Arts stamps and dies. They are so cute!
For various reasons, you cannot actually shake the box (the shaker elements got glue on them, maybe there is some static from the acetate, the elements got stuck in the outer cirles - for which I used cardstock layers because I did not have any crafting foam - and because the box simply isn't deep enough ...) Need I say more?
Anyway, it was a good learning experience and I hope I can come up with a new and improved version, since I do like the design LOL.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenge:
CHNC Extra - always Anything Christmas goes
Merry Monday Month long Anything Christmas goes
Clearly iStamp - 3 Christmas in July
Great Impressions - Anything goes

My shaker card is kind of a nightmare. The ring that creates the shaker box is very ragged, and my little bits are stuck too -- glue, static, who knows? Very discouraging as Kelly made it look so easy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea for a Christmas card, though. Keep trying?
Great try!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was wonderful, and you pulled it off!
Then I read the rest!
What a great idea - I love it - thanks for sharing for my CHNC challenge extra for July - hope to see you again soon. x
ReplyDeleteShaker cards are really difficult, Marianne! But this turned out to be an adorable Christmas card even if it doesn't shake! I'm glad you shared it with us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad your first attempt at a shaker was a bit of a disappointment. But keep trying, because they can be really fun. Your card is very sweet and I love the color combo and layout. Thanks for playing in the Clearly iStamp Challenge.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a great card! Very cut reindeer and love your colors. Thanks for entering the ClearlyiStamp Christmas in July Challenge. Debbie McNamee CiSCDT

This is super cute! Sorry that your shaker isn't shaking but good job on finishing up this card. I love the little reindeer and trees on the side. :) Thank you so much for joining us at Clearly iStamp! Hugs-Katy DT:)
ReplyDeleteThat is the cool thing about crafting....there are no rules! You go with it and sometimes the "mistake" is what makes the card. But it doesn't have to be a shaker card. It's a 3D awesome card! So stick with that!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing in Clearly iStamp Challenge #3 - Christmas in July! See you TODAY when challenge #4 is posted. I’m so excited it will be so fun!!
