This card is for this week's Jingle Belles challenge. They're asking for the Midas touch. Apart from gold (or silver) we're allowed to use white or cream. I'm not entirely satisfied with how it turned out, so hopefully I'll be able to make an improved version tomorrow and/or a square card version.
I used some cream A5 cardstock. For the background I used a Marianne Design text stamp, featuring a Dutch Christmas song, stamped with Versamark gold. The other images are from a CardDeco "Stampies" Christmas set. For this, I used Ranger's embossing powder in gold and then added a few touches of gold glitter glue. The gold ribbon is from my stash. The edges were inked with Antque Linen distress ink.
I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long. This weeks' theme is "Mono".
Crafts 4 Eternity – Christmas projects
well, i'm a teeny bit mystified of how one could fail to be 100% satisfied with this ♥GLORIOUS♥ golden creation, but i can relate to the feeling of a card not looking like it did IN MY HEAD certainly! i would like to emphasize, however, that to those of us NOT seeing the version you imagined, this is quite breathtakingly beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo pretty! I love the images stamped over the words! VERY nice! Thanks for joining in our Jingle Belles fun this week!
ReplyDeleteThey say that there is magic in three's and you certainly have achieved that magic with this.
ReplyDeleteNow this was more what I had envisioned in my head…and my first attempt actually ended up in the trash. YOU certainly succeeded! The gold ribbon is a perfect border/trim for the text background and images. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteI always love text ... such a perfect background for those sweet little holiday stampies ... so glad you joined our jingle belles fun.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! Thanks for joining us at C4E this week.
