Let's get merry

Wishing you all a happy and most of all healthy 2021! Hopefully, vaccination will go swiftly and safely, so that we can start meeting up and hugging each other in person once again. Until then, we'll have to make do with virtual hugs and online friends to keep sane.

I used this sweet House Mouse image that I received from my blogging friend Mia of Craftartista. I thought this image was very fitting to start off my new year's crafting. I decided to use my neglected set of Letraset Aquamarkers for my colouring. I used the brush nib to add colour to the stamp in my MISTI and either spritzed lightly with water or wet the pigment with a water brush before stamping. The colours of the Aquamarkers are very bold compared to my Tombow markers, so it was a challenge to get the look I was after. I also touched the pigment on my Tombow watercolour card with my water brush to spread the colour. It felt great to a) use a new stamp and b) to use my stash to try something new.

I die cut my panel with my old and trusty stitched rectangle die by Simon Says Stamp and adhered it to a Neenah desert storm card base. To finish up, I added a previously stamped and die-cut sentiment (SSS) and added some sparkle to the Christmas light using my Spectrum Noir glitter brush.

Sparkle and shine Christmas card

Hello and welcome to the blog. I hope you all had lovely holidays despite any restrictions in your area. Our Christmas was nice and quiet with plenty of sunshine.

Although I still need to share several cards that I created for the current year, this hasn't stopped me for starting on next year's batch.

This card came together quickly, because I used a snippet from a panel I had created over a year ago for a different card, using a Uniko stencil (In the forest) and glitter paste in gold and green. I used glitter tape in copper and gold to set off my panel and heat embossed a sentiment from an retired Uniko set (Label Love: Christmas) in gold ep. The layout was inspired by the current sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

CCC Reveal November

Hello crafty friends! It's time for the monthly reveal of the international Card Chain Challenge, where you link up to send a card to someone and then receive a card from the next person in the list.

My card went to Hilary in the UK
I know she has not received it yet, so I hope I'm not ruining the surprise here.

I combined the card sketch with the optional aperture, glitter and friendship themes to create a shaker card. I stamped my background using my NBUS Studio Katia stamp that I snagged during the STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp. The SSS ink-blended butterfly die cut was in my UFO box.

I'm also linking up my card at:
