Tuesday Morning Sketches #569

Hello crafty friends! Thanks for stopping by!

I decided it was high time I played along again at Tuesday Morning Sketches. This past week's sketch was just perfect for using some of the elements from my August Love from Lizi kit.

I simply combined 2 of the papers from the paper pad by joining them together before die cutting a panel using my SSS stitched rectangle die. Before adhering the panel to my card base (included in the kit), I wraps to pieces of blue ribbon from the kit around my panel and then finished my design off with a leaf from the ephemera pack and a couple of puffy stickers from the sticker sheet.

Here's the sketch that was the inspiration for my design:

I had already used the stamps and sequins from the kit,
but had not used any of the papers, ephemera or puffy stickers yet

Ombre birthday shaker

Hello crafty friends. I'm back with a shaker birthday card that I created using an ink-blended panel from my UFO box. It had already been die cut, since I used the letters on this card 2 years ago. So it's about time I used this panel, right?

I turned it into a shaker by adding foam tape around the cut out sentiment, filling it up with sequins from my stash and adhering it to a cream card base. To finish off, I added a butterfly (Uniko) that I die cut from a smooshed snippet of watercolour card (DOI in Fired brick).

Sun Twofer

With summer still in full swing here in Crete, I had to create at least one beach card this summer.

For this one, I used my W&N watercolour paints to create my background and used old and NBUS stamp sets and the accompanying dies to create my sun (old Lawn Fawn set) and my umbrella and flamingo swimming band (new Crafter's Companion set). The sentiment is from an old SSS stamp set. I trimmed down my panel and mounted it to my card front.

As always, I was determined to play in this month's Twofer challenge, but I was running out of time fast. Therefore, I made a very quick and CAS second card, turning the sun stamp into artsy sunflowers. I stamped three sunflowers onto my kraft panel and did some very quick colouring using coloured pencils and odourless mineral spirits. I die cut my panel using a SSS stitched rectangle die and adhered it to a dark yellow card base. To create my sentiment strip, I grabbed a yellow Copic marker and a scrap of white cardstock and then stamped the sentiment (Concord & 9th).

So here is a picture of both my cards:
