Hot foiling

I really wanted to play along at CAS Mix Up this month, if only because I wanted to break in my early birthday present: a Gemini Junior and Gemini Foilpress. Yay! My husband told me to order it for my birthday after I saw an offer a while back that was too good to pass up on.

Being caught up in work and life and creating pink Christmas cards, I did not think it was going to happen, but then tonight I decided I could at least give it a try, using the supplies I had already out.

So I used the snow globe scene die (that I used for my pink snow globe card) and the gold foil that came with my machine to impress and foil the scene onto watercolour cardstock (Crafter's Companion) and I was thrilled to get it right on my first try. I used the accompanying stamp set and Tombow markers to stamp the (solid) tree and the outlines of the house, such as the windows and roof details, and then used more Tombow markers and a water brush to add colour to the house itself and to the background. For my sentiment I used an older stamp set and die by SSS. I stamped the sentiment in Black Jack (CP) ink instead of black for a softer look.

Pink Christmas shaker

And here it is: my last pink Christmas card (for now anyway). To finish my series, I wanted to create a shaker card, and I used some left-overs to create it.

I used a die cut panel from my UFO box, and while I'm writing up this post, I wonder why I did not use the shaker pouches matching the MFT die. Duh! On the other hand, I do like how the top lies flat, and this Sparkelicious glitter by Chloe (Ice maiden) is really small stuff and not bulky at all. I used the ink that was still on my blending tool to add a hint of colour behind my windows before sprinkling some of the glitter in each square and adhering my panel with foam-mounting tape to my card base. I had already heat-embossed (liquid platinum) and die cut my sentiment (Winnie and Walter) for one of my other cards (I had intended to use it on my wreath card but decided to use a heat embossed sentiment instead). I did some stamp surgery to stamp only the 'wishes' part of a sentiment stamp (Winnie and Walter) and stamped it in Black Jack ink (CP Designs).

Pink Christmas twofer

I'm almost done posting my pink Christmas cards. I wanted to create a few cards using some of the patterned papers I have been hoarding for years, so I selected a few 6x6 papers and thought about a way to incorporate them into my cards.

I decided to keep things simple by having this pretty paper peak out from under my heat embossed (liquid platinum) sentiment panel. I die cut the mistletoe using an older die (CC Designs) from green linen cardstock and adhered it into the circle aperture. To finish off, I added a twine bow (with silver thread) and some rhinestones.

I was left with a smaller strip of patterned paper and had already die cut the mistletoe four times, so I decided to create a second card using my left-overs. I love how I've been able to create different looks using the same supplies.
