Hi there! Just popping in today with a quick post with a card I created for the current Gossip Column at the Winnie & Walter blog, where the uber-talented star gossiper Teheerah Atchia is challenging us to draw inspiration from the work of Alan Kitching. I had several ideas I wanted to turn into cards, but sometimes life gets in the way, so I'm really happy I managed to squeeze in this one card before the linky closes.

After embossing the HI sentiment using the W&W cutaway die, I stamped the upper case sentiments from the W&W Bubble Talk set using several Distress Oxide inks and then stamped the lower case sentiments from another W&W stamp set (In bloom: Julie's roses).

I'm also linking up my card at:

Best wishes

This weekend, I managed to squeeze in a little crafty time to create a card for a couple of fun challenges, using some NBUS PTI supplies.

I created a background wash using some yellow W&N watercolour paints, and then created splatters using Payne's grey. I die cut the Splits: Best Wishes from both wc cardstock and vellum, stamped the image in Slate grey pigment ink (Studio Calico) and heat embossed in clear. I wasn't sure which of the two I was going to use, but in the end I decided to use them both, layering the vellum on top of the cs version. Before I did, I splattered some Payne's grey onto the cardstock version and added a touch of grey using a grey Copic marker. I heat embossed the sentiment in Liquid Platinum onto the vellum piece. I swiped my Slate grey ink pad across the edge of my base panel before adhering my watercolour panel using extra strong double sided tape.

Challenges:

Fluttering by

Hello and welcome. I'm fluttering by today with lots of butterflies.

I started by creating a rainbow panel using my distress oxide inks and a blending tool. Next, I spritzed water on through a stencil (not really visible though) and blotted up the water using a paper towel. I then die cut my panel using my NBUS Bitty Butterfly coverplate die by PTI. I also die cut a second panel from white Neenah cardstock. I trimmed of the lower part of my A2 panel to create a square card and adhered it to my card base. I adhered some of my rainbow butterflies flat into the die cut apertures (inlaid), while popping up the wings of three of my butterflies using clear foam tape. For the white butteflies I added a second butterfly on top of the inlaid one for a little added interest. The sentiment (English country garden - butteflies by Uniko) was stamped in black onto a strip of vellum.
