You're wonderful

Today I have one more card to share for Darnell's 7th NBUS challenge, using the stamps from the last Stamp of Approval collection that I won back in July and which arrived about a month ago.

Don't you love these sweet birds? I used selective masking to stamp my sentiment, since the full sentiment reads 'You're a wonderful friend'. Love how you can stretch your stamps this way. To cover up the space between the words, I stamped a small flower from the same collection.

STAMPlorations Color Blooms Hop and more NBUS

I'm back with another card, featuring part of the colouring page I downloaded from the STAMPlorations website and coloured last month.

I decided to make my colourful blooms pop by adding a black oval frame. I first cut the frame and then selected the area of my colouring page that I wanted to use. After mounting the frame panel using foam tape, I adhered my layers onto a white card base. The sentiment stamps from the Altenew Label Love stamp set were screaming to be finally used (I had wanted this set since it first came out, but it was always out of stock whenever I was ready to place an order at my favourite online stores, but I persevered). After stamping them in Archival black, I cut them out, went around the edges with a Memento black marker and mounted them using foam tape. I added a little clear wink of stella and a few sparkling clear sequins (PPP) and my card was done.

Here's another picture, where you can see a hint of the shimmer and the sparkle of the sequins.

Jingling all the way

Can you believe it's September already? Although summer is not exactly over in my part of the world, it's high time to get cracking with those Christmas cards, to avoid the stress in November. And what better way to do so with some NBUS (never before used schtuff) supplies and a few fun challenges.

When I saw the Reindeer Games stamp set by Mama Elephant last year, I just had to have it, and these cute reindeer have been patiently waiting to be inked up. When I saw this sketch on the CAS(E) this Sketch blog, I immediately thought these reindeer would be just perfect.

I stamped the images onto a piece of Neenah cardstock using sepia Versafine ink and added the sentiment (also NBUS by Crafter's Companion) and coloured them using Spectrum Noir coloured pencils. And then work got in the way, which meant I didn't manage to finish the card before the linky closed. This has happened to me before and it will undoubtedly happen again. Sound familiar?

At least I have another Christmas card done and it's perfect for the following challenges:

Jingle Belles - Music (I think the sentiment and the tiny jingle bell - also NBUS - say it all)
Darnell's NBUS #7 challenge - Give your never before used schtuff some love
Winter Wonderland - Cute Christmas characters (or Easel card)
The Pencil Case (a new to me challenge) - 27 Anything (hand coloured) goes
Colour Crazy Craft (another new to me challenge) - 21 Anything (hand coloured) goes
