Same washi, different card

To avoid the stress of last-minute Christmas card making, I intend to make multiples whenever I can this year, preferably with some variations. And that's exactly what I did with this card.

When I created this card, I decided to prepare a second panel while I was at it, using the same supplies as before. All I needed to do now was finish it off. I used the same stamp set as before but selected a different sentiment and moved it to the right side of my panel and then popped up the die cut heart (SSS Bundle of stitched shapes) with foam tape.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Jingle Belles - Here we come a-WASHI-ing
Christmas Card Challenges - #12 Anything Christmas goes
SSS Wednesday challenge - Anything goes
CHNC Extra - Always anything Christmas goes
ABC Christmas challenge - D is for die cut

Muse, masking, monochrome and blending

Here's another card I managed to create this weekend. When I saw last week's Muse inspiration, I immediately thought of the frame of the Masterpiece Make It Market kit by Paper Trey Ink that I purchased last month.

I decided to combine the frame with the city stamp that was also included in the kit. I stamped both images in Navy Blue Mid-Tone ink (Hero Arts) onto Soft stone cardstock (PTI). I then stamped the city image again on a piece of Post-it to create a mask. I also masked off the sides and top of my sky and sponged in the sky with three shades of blue (Surf Blue by SSS, Pool by HA and Navy Blue by HA). I love how it turned out. Also love that the card can be used for different occasions, so I did not add a sentiment. I can always stamp a fitting sentiment on the inside when I want to send the card.

Below is the card by Marion Vagg that inspired my card.

Challenges:
Muse - 105 Inspired by this week's muse Marion Vagg
Addicted to CAS - 57 Mask
 CASology - 134 Monochrome
One-layer Simplicity - OLS13 You Blend!
ATSM - 132 Make you mark

Washi tape and Santa

The lovely Jingle Belles are challenging us to use washi tape this fortnight. Lucky for me, I managed to dig up the few washi tapes I own from my stash and got crafty this weekend.

I decided to combine the washi tape challenge with the Santa challenge over at Merry Monday. After adhering the strips of washi tape (the red ones are Marianne Design; no idea about the other two) to my cardstock (Neenah Solar white), I die cut a panel using the Stitched rectangle dies by Simon Says Stamp, and then stamped the small Santa image from the Happy Christmas set by Winnie & Walter in black ink (Archival Jet Black by Ranger) onto a scrap of Core'dinations cardstock. The sentiment (from a new to me stamp set by CAS-ual Fridays called Snowflake Greetings) was stamped in black onto a strip of vellum and then heat embossed in clear (HA) and adhered to a slightly smaller strip of white cardstock. I used foam tape (3M) to pop up the panel on my card.

Challenges:
Jingle Belles - Washi tape
Merry Monday - 167 Santa
Craft Your Passion - 249 Always anything goes
CHNC Extra - Alwasy anything Christmas goes
CCC - 12 Anything goes
SSS Work it Wednesday - Sth. new (Stitched rectangle dies, new stamps)
